Milan Design Week 2026 — Day 1 at Fuorisalone

Every year, Milan Design Week feels like a celebration of creativity. It’s a tradition we return to with curiosity, excitement, and fresh perspective.

From vibrant streets to hidden courtyards, every corner reveals months of design thinking brought to life. Here, design goes beyond objects—it becomes atmosphere, storytelling, innovation, and emotion.
Inspiration often appears when we least expect it. A texture, a silhouette, or a fleeting detail can spark an entirely new idea. During Design Week, that feeling exists everywhere.

Every installation, showroom, and public space offers a different perspective on how design shapes the way we live, connect, and experience the world.

Home as Sanctuary: Why Design Matters More Than Ever — Founder’s Reflection

In uncertain times, we instinctively return to what matters most—our home and the people we share it with. More than ever, home has become a place of comfort, calm, and emotional grounding. It’s where we slow down, reconnect, and find a sense of balance again.

Today, we often speak about interiors through aesthetics—materials, colours, and composition. But great design is about far more than what we see.

A thoughtfully designed home quietly supports everyday life. Through light, texture, proportion, and atmosphere, it creates a sense of comfort, safety, and belonging that shapes how we feel, often without us even noticing.

Art in Conversation: Path of an Artist – Curated Tour of Village des Animaux by Zaahirah Muthy

Claire Dominics Buro recently welcomed guests for an evening dedicated to art, reflection, and meaningful dialogue.

Led by internationally recognised artist and curator Zaahirah Muthy, the event invited the creative community to explore the stories, ideas, and perspectives behind contemporary artistic practice.
Hosted within our gallery space, the intimate tour offered more than an exhibition—it became a conversation.

Through her multidisciplinary practice spanning painting, sculpture, and mixed media, Zaahirah Muthy shared how art can inspire reflection, resilience, and human connection.

Her insights encouraged guests to experience art not only as something to observe, but as a language that shapes identity, culture, and collective memory.

Unfolding the Multilayered Beauty of Arabic Architecture: An Artist’s Personal Journey

Living and working in the Arab world has been a continual source of inspiration. Across every journey, city, and building, I have discovered an architectural language that beautifully balances heritage with innovation.

Arabic architecture is more than a visual style—it is a timeless expression of culture, identity, and craftsmanship that continues to evolve while honouring its rich history.
What fascinates me most is the way Arabic design embraces contrast without losing harmony.

Traditional courtyards, elegant arches, intricate mashrabiya screens, and geometric patterns continue to shape contemporary homes, hotels, and public spaces.

Every detail reflects a design philosophy where beauty, functionality, and cultural identity exist in perfect balance, creating spaces that feel both timeless and deeply connected to their surroundings.
