Maison & Objet 2025: Trends, Inspiration & Our Takeaways
Our team was in Paris for Maison & Objet 2025 — bringing back new material samples, fresh catalogues, prototypes, and a huge dose of inspiration. We explored all seven halls, attended talks, and absorbed how designers are pushing form, meaning, and material in exciting directions.
This year’s edition, often called the “Paris Fashion Week of design,” drew over 70,000 visitors and more than 2,300 brands. Anchored in the theme Sur/Reality, it showed how 2025 interiors will merge imagination with responsibility, craft with technology, and playfulness with sustainability.
The central theme, Sur/Reality, celebrated the centennial of Surrealism. Across the fair, we saw exaggerated forms, whimsical distortions, and dreamlike installations.
This playful approach reflects a cultural shift: after years of rational minimalism, interiors are now embracing surprise, fantasy, and emotional resonance.
Color and material stories were bold, warm, and tactile:
Together, these point to a strong desire for materials with identity and colors that energize spaces.
Lighting and accessories took center stage — less about utility, more about personality.
These are no longer “background” pieces — they act as micro-architectures that anchor mood and story.
Nature appeared not just as greenery, but as imaginative storytelling.
This evolution of biophilia signals a shift from simply bringing plants indoors to reinterpreting nature as narrative.
Maison & Objet is also a platform for thought leadership. This year’s The Talks program emphasized how design is redefining luxury, sustainability, and experience.
The message behind the message: design trends are systems of ideas, not just aesthetics — embedding responsibility, emotion, and imagination into the built environment.
For our studio, being there in person meant more than trend-spotting. We came back with:
You’ll see these influences soon in our projects:
Our foundation remains constant: sustainability as a backbone. We specify materials that age well, carry meaning, and respect craft while minimizing footprint.
Maison & Objet 2025 reminded us that design is not only about function — it is about wonder. The Sur/Reality theme, tactile materials, expressive colors, and biophilic narratives all point toward a future where interiors are playful, sustainable, and emotionally rich.
For us, the task is clear: to translate this sense of possibility into spaces you can truly live in — every day.
